Adobe InDesign Video - Blog Posting
1. InDesign lets you create higher quality designs that have more ability for interaction. There are only vectors so there will never be any form of unwanted blur. It allows you to change the text of works and allows for some changes on only the text you want to include. It is faster than Word is, as simpler.
2. Creating a new document allows you to start a document, change the size and format of it. It can also have a color theme, or can be a basic white rectangle to begin with.
3. Adding text can be done through the use of the Text tool, to click and drag to create a rectangular text box. You can also use the text fill tool that allows you to type inside of a shape. You can also place text as an image if you chose to (as am image itself).
4. By using the paragraph and character styles you can select some text, or multiple selections of text, depending on what you want to do. You can always highlight to change individual text.
5. Character style is meant to override Paragraph style. Character style is also meant to change just parts of text rather than multiple text sections. Paragraph style is meant to change multiple text boxes. By highlighting and selecting a character or paragraph style, you enter that text selected to that style. You can also change the style as much as you want. You change the style as a whole by double clicking and going through the options shown. You can change the font, size, type of font etc.
6. For every new style you make you should name it something you can remember like "paragraph" or "heading". To change text you can highlight the section you want to include and effect and clicking the style you want to affect it with.
